Infection Preventionist Nurse

Andrew Residence is currently hiring an Infection Preventionist Nurse (RN)!

Compensation $38.00-40.00/hour depending on qualifications

Infection Preventionist Nurse (RN) Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, deliver, and manage the Infection Prevention Program
• Provide education and guidance about infection prevention to staff and residents
• Successfully comply with regulatory requirements and champion improvement efforts
• Participate in the development and review of occupational health policies and procedures related to infection prevention control
• Remain knowledgeable and utilize the most relevant and current technologies to enhance infection prevention initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current RN license in good standing
• BLS Certification
• Successful completion of Infection Control and Epidemiology course or attainment within first 1 years of employment
• Proficiency with computer software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, EHR)
• Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary team framework
• Effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Clinical Labratory Science, Medical Technology or related field
• 2 years working in an Infection Preventionist or similar role
• Experience working with resident populations
• Mental health nursing experience
• Knowledge of mental illness and needs of the population

COVID-19 considerations: PPE is provided to all employees and we follow the recommendations from MDH and the CDC. CDC guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination recommend that everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines including booster doses. COVID vaccination for Andrew Residence employees is not required, but is highly encouraged.

We offer evidence based, collaborative and trauma-informed treatment services that align with an individual’s personal goals and needs. In addition to our mental health programming, we provide a broad range of physical health care services by our 24 hour nursing team. Andrew is for those who do not need psychiatric hospitalization and are working to achieve success living independently.
