Job Summary: This position is responsible for building Ohio Catholic’s commercial lending portfolio in the Cleveland market. The Commercial Banker will provide financial expertise to help Member’s identify the best solutions to reach their goals while ensuring loan quality, deposit growth, and sales of Ohio Catholic’s products.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develops a sales call strategy for the assigned area to develop and cross-sell profitable commercial business. Conducts pre and post sales call planning to include internal and external partners when appropriate.
  • Engages all internal and external partners through joint call activity with members and prospects to deepen and obtain relationships by providing financial solutions.
  • Actively participates in an aggressive business development plan to increase the Credit Unions loan and deposit portfolio. Conducts business development sales calls to solicit new loans and deposits. Cross-sells additional loan, deposit, and merchant services to existing members through needs assessment review.
  • Originates and negotiates loans. Interviews members and prospects to determine the credit worthiness of their loan requests.
  • Regularly performs joint calls with Branch Managers.
  • Provides service to members who have questions or problems with their loan or deposit accounts.
  • Contacts delinquent loan customers
  • Remains knowledgeable of all laws and regulations governing the lending activities of financial institutions. Ensures compliance with all applicable credit union policies and procedures, and State and Federal regulations.
  • Maintains industry and market awareness and an understanding of the local economic trends to maximize lending results.
  • Builds community relationships by visible participation in service activities and business organizations. Projects a positive image of the credit union in the local market.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience in Commercial Banking function in the Cleveland Market
  • Loan Structuring and credit analysis experience
  • Ability to multi-task and enjoy doing it along with presenting a positive, team-oriented, attitude
  • Keen problem solving and resolution technique
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required

Physical Requirements/Work Environment: May lift up to 10 lbs.;Office work- must be able to use a PC and phone; hearing and site are required to perform this job; may need to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
