What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Technician position at Onin Staffing?
Onin Staffing is currently recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Technician for the greater McAllen area.
The Purchasing Technician will be responsible for the follow:
Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of services or materials in accordance with federal and state laws and policies and procedures.
- Assists in obtaining information on goods and services needed.
- Reviews requisitions and assists in specification development.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product and/or service information, price availability and delivery schedule(s).
- Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase, competitive bid, request for qualifications, or purchase through a cooperative purchasing agreement.
- Prepares solicitation documents for conducting competitive procurement and purchase orders for vendors.
- Resolves defective or unacceptable goods or services with Central Receiving personnel, end users, vendors, and others to determine source of problem and takes appropriate action.
- Expedites delivery of goods to users.
- Assists Purchasing personnel with bid document preparation, travel, and vendor correspondence.
- Maintains vendor applications, purchase orders, bid files, and other records for auditing purposes.
- Assist with vehicle registration renewals and payments.
- Provides Banner purchasing training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Experience
To qualify, one of the following must be met:
- College Certificate
- A minimum of 30 earned college hours
At least one (1) year of Purchasing experience, preferred.
