Job Title: Logistics Coordinator - Bilingual

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 7am - 4pm

Location: Stokesdale, NC

Department: Warehouse

Reports To: Senior Logistics Manager of North America


Why Does This Job Exist At Ontex?

A logistics coordinator ensures that the transfer of raw materials and finish goods from/to our plants and 3PLs are done in a timely matter, minimizing delays and disruptions by creating stock transfers orders, managing transportation and documentation, ensuring everything is at the right place at the right time.


What Is The Scope Of The Job?

The scope of coordinating logistics from/to our plants to a 3PL is comprehensive, covering everything from planning and communication to execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement. It ensures that your supply chain operates smoothly, meets customer demands, and aligns with your business objectives.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities


1. Planning and Scheduling

  • Planning Alignment: Coordinating with the planning team to understand when raw material needs to be at the plant and ready for the production team as well as finished goods will be ready for shipment.
  • Transportation Scheduling: Planning the transportation of goods from/to the plant to the 3PL, including selecting our available carriers, scheduling pickups, and ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Capacity Planning: Ensuring that there is adequate space and resources at both the plant and the 3PL to handle the transfer of goods.


2. Communication Management

  • Liaison Role: Acting as the main point of contact between the plant and the 3PL, facilitating clear and consistent communication.
  • Issue Resolution: Handling any communication-related issues, such as delays, changes in shipment details, or special requirements.


3. Inventory and Order Management

  • Inventory Control: Ensuring the correct amount of goods is shipped, preventing overstock or understock situations at the 3PL. Ensure 3PL inventory matches our inventory in SAP.
  • Order Fulfillment Coordination: Aligning shipment schedules with customer orders to meet demand without delays.


4. Cost Management

  • Cost Optimization: Identifying and implementing cost-saving measures in transportation and handling.
  • Budget Tracking: Monitoring and managing logistics costs to stay within budget.


5. Risk Management

  • Contingency Planning: Developing backup plans for potential issues such as transportation delays, carrier failures, or unexpected demand spikes.


The Teams I Will Be Collaborating With

  • The intercompany logistics coordinator will be in constant contact with our planning team, 3PLs, carriers and warehouse.


Educational Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, operations management, or a related field is highly desired. While a bachelor's degree is desired, certifications and/or relevant experience can significantly enhance the performance in this role.


Prior Work Experience Required

  • Entry-Level - 0 to 2 years of experience from candidates that possesses degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.

OR

  • Mid-Level - 2 to 5 years of experience from professionals who have gained hands-on experience in coordinating logistics operations.


Technical Skill Requirements

Strong analytical skills, proficiency in logistics software like SAP preferred, strong skills in using Excel and other data tools for tracking, analysis, and reporting and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are crucial.
