Openwork is assisting one of our valued clients in their search for a Law Clerk Intern! Work in Downtown Austin in public service, this mission based role is a great fit for a law student enrolled in their 2nd year wanting to to work with a public sector leadership team to gain experience in multiple areas.
Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) the following :
- Conducts legal research and gathers data to support decision-making processes
- Prepares and edits legal documents.
- Reviews and analyzes legal documents and records.
- Assists attorneys in preparing cases for litigation.
- Reviews cases for jurisdictional deficiencies and procedural compliance.
- Collaborates with team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Prepares reports, presentations, and documentation as required.
- Participates in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and training opportunities.
- Performs administrative tasks as needed to support departmental operations.
- Adapts and learns new skills as required to meet project demands.
- Seeks opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the department.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications :
Enrolled in an accredited law school or graduated from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. First year of law school must be complete before internship begins
