Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management:
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) that ensures services meet expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate quality improvement including coordinating review of charts and coding and gather feedback between physicians in a privileged setting.
- Oversee quality assurance processes, including inspections, audits, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Conduct regular quality audits to identify process inefficiencies or non-conformances and work with teams to address gaps.
- Collaborate with legal, operations, and other departments to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality performance and track organizational metrics to drive improvements.
Risk Management:
- Lead the risk management framework, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all areas of operations.
- Establish a risk management process for identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing risks, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement risk assessments, business continuity planning, and crisis management protocols.
- Provide regular reports to executive leadership on risk exposure, status of mitigation efforts, and any emerging risks.
- Foster a culture of proactive risk identification and management within all teams and departments.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure the organization’s quality and risk management practices comply with industry regulations, standards, and internal policies (e.g.,HIPAA, OSHA, etc.).
- Stay updated on changes in relevant regulations and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Manage internal and external audits to verify compliance and ensure all corrective actions are properly addressed.
- Serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies and maintain relationships with external auditors or certifying bodies.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of quality and risk management professionals.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team’s technical skills and knowledge of quality/risk management standards.
- Foster collaboration and ensure cross-functional teams are aligned on quality and risk initiatives.
Strategic Planning and Reporting:
- Collect and manage quality metrics at a group level and package for presentation to payers and value-based care programs.
- Develop and execute strategies to improve organizational quality standards and reduce risk exposure.
- Present risk and quality management findings to senior leadership and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Create and deliver regular reports on quality performance, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
Incident Management and Problem Solving:
- Investigate incidents, customer complaints, and non-conformances to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Lead failure analysis and problem-solving initiatives using methodologies like root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), etc.
What you bring:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Healthcare, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in quality management, risk management, or regulatory compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Experience in [industry-specific experience, e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, technology, etc.] is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), risk management methodologies, and industry standards.
- Experience in an orthopedic medical group or hospital setting strongly encouraged
- Expertise in conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to analyze complex data and present findings to senior leadership.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with quality management software, data analysis tools, and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
