College Medical Center Phoenix is searching for a Director of Quality and Risk. The Director of Quality and Risk administers, directs and coordinates activities of the Quality Management Department and oversight responsibility for Case Management, Customer Service, OB Outreach and Lean. Responsible for day to day operations of the Quality Management Department including but not limited to the Medical Staff Performance Improvement activities, core measure compliance, risk management and directing the accreditation process. Oversees the recommendation, development and implementation of policies and procedures for the respective responsible areas, and keeping the Chief Executive Officer informed of both the progress and potential problems.
Qualifications/Duties:
- Mastered Prepared in Nursing or Related Field preferred or 10 years previous leadership experience in an acute care setting with 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in Quality Management and/or Performance Improvement
- Oversees the implementation of the Performance Improvement Program for the hospital.
- Assists all departments in the development of meaningful criteria to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of the care provided.
- Develops and recommends corrective action plans to be implemented when indicator measurement is below pre-determined thresholds or above benchmarks.
- Responsible for Medical Staff Performance Improvement activities in the facility.
- Responsible for the oversight of the Lean Program within the organization
- Acts as a liaison for all departments and services as they relate to Performance Improvement and Risk Management.
- Responsible for the continual growth and improvement of the Performance Improvement and Risk Management processes to keep abreast of the latest trends and practice in the healthcare industry.
- Demonstrates professional management of department personnel
- Provides for professional growth and development of the staff through identification of needs, sponsoring training programs, encouraging education (formal and continuing) efforts and evaluation of same.
- Counsels employees, develops staff and, as appropriate, utilizes the disciplinary process.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of all components of the Performance Improvement and Risk Management Programs for the facility
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CMC Phoenix roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CMC Phoenix in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
