Kitchen Assistant -3.75 hours/day, @ Othello High School (Primary Location)
Job Description
- Under supervision, perform varied semi-skilled food service tasks, to include, but not limited to: food preparation, cooking, setup serving lines and salad bars, cleanup kitchen area, wash dishes, carry garbage to dumpsters.
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Work additional hours and perform work related duties at other building locations as requested by food services supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to compute basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Be punctual, and dependable, maintain good personal hygiene and have a positive, team player attitude.
- Must obtain food handlers permit within 14 days of employment and maintain current card thereafter.
- Perform physically demanding work as required to meet the needs of food service department.
- The job required frequent standing, walking, lifting, and bending,
- Able to regularly lift 20-25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely with and around hot surfaces.

Starting Date: 10/1/2024
Salary: Per PSE CBA - Schedule A
Hours: Per position above (start/stop time determined by supervisor)
Contracted Days: 181 work days & 7 holidays (188 total contracted days)
