Role Summary: The IT Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the lifecycle of all technology assets across the organization, including both hardware and software. This position will lead the efforts to maintain accurate tracking, ensure compliance, manage vendor relationships, and support operational efficiency through effective asset management practices. The IT Asset Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams including security, procurement, finance, and MSP vendors to align asset management goals with business objectives. This role will require a strategic mindset for long-term planning and day-to-day management to ensure smooth operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to maintain accurate and efficient tracking of all IT hardware and software assets, ensuring records are continuously updated.
- Drive and lead the definition, maintenance, and updating of policies and procedures for effective management of the IT asset life cycle, including acquisition, deployment, utilization, de-installation, reallocations, and disposal.
- Conduct regular software license and hardware asset audits to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and internal policies.
- Oversee infrastructure vendor relationships, participate in contract negotiations, lead the renewal cycle, and ensure compliance for software licenses and hardware warranties (e.g., CDW, AT&T, Microsoft, Verkada, NEAT).
- Partner with security, procurement, and finance teams to align asset management goals with business objectives and cost-saving measures.
- Track, manage, and control all store and corporate technology assets.
- Collaborate with MSP to track and manage an accurate list of all employee licenses and hardware.
- Ensure regular maintenance and proper functioning of all corporate location technology, including conducting site visits.
- Lead and support equipment refreshes, new requests, and maintenance for both current and new store locations.
- Manage the disposal of equipment and support office/store closures.
- Handle IT equipment onboarding for new employees.
- Provide regular reports and insights on asset utilization, cost trends, and opportunities for optimization to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Travel up to 25% to support local stores and corporate office initiatives.
- Administer Neat conference system.
- Administer Verkada security camera software.
- Manage Intune for PC and iPhone endpoint management.
- Administer asset management tools and platforms.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- 3 years of experience managing enterprise software licenses (e.g., Microsoft), including contract negotiation and vendor management.
- 3 years of experience in IT asset management, with a solid understanding of hardware and software lifecycle management.
- Experience with asset management tools.
- Ability to manage incidents in a high-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience leading organizational change initiatives related to asset management.
- Preferred: Experience working with Microsoft Intune and managing device policies.
- Preferred: Experience working with Apple Business Manager (ABM).
Other Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in asset management tools and platforms.
- Strong understanding of the software asset lifecycle, including licensing models, compliance, optimization strategies, and reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of the hardware asset lifecycle from procurement to disposal, including cost-saving strategies.
- Experience managing enterprise software licenses (e.g., Microsoft), including contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Experience with inventory management, asset tagging, tracking, and reporting.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework, particularly in asset and configuration management.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in generating and interpreting asset management reports and metrics.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management related to software and hardware asset management, including data security compliance and disposal standards.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to oversee large-scale asset management projects.
- Experience leading organizational change initiatives related to asset management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
