We are seeking a seasoned Marketing and Business Development Manager with extensive experience in the Engineering industry to join our Laurel, MD office. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the state, local, and federal sectors, with strong expertise in preparing and managing proposals and related documentation. This role is pivotal to our growth and requires a highly motivated individual with leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of the business development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the proposal development process from start to finish, including gathering and preparing supplemental information, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring timely submission of RFPs.
- Establish and maintain strong connections with state, local, and federal agencies, leveraging previous relationships and professional networks.
- Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to identify new business opportunities and secure contracts.
- Organize and manage company events, including networking events, conferences, and team-building activities to strengthen internal and external relationships.
- Represent the company at outreach events and industry gatherings to expand the company’s visibility and network.
- Foster relationships with former colleagues, clients, and partners to generate opportunities and maintain a robust pipeline.
- Collaborate with the technical and executive teams to develop tailored approaches for each proposal and marketing campaign.
- Monitor industry trends and opportunities to position the company competitively in the market.
- Oversee marketing materials and ensure alignment with the company’s branding and strategic goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 15 years of experience in the engineering industry, with a strong emphasis on business development and marketing.
- In-depth knowledge of state, local, and federal procurement processes.
- Demonstrated success in managing the full RFP submission process for engineering projects.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to build and sustain professional relationships with clients, partners, and industry leaders.
- Experience in organizing and executing corporate and outreach events.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, proposal management software, and marketing platforms.
