The Pennsylvania Employees Benefit Trust Fund (PEBTF), administrator of health benefits for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania employees and retirees, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Receivable Representative to join our Financial Services team reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.
The Accounts Receivable Representative will prepare member notices and invoices as well as resolving outstanding payment issues in a timely manner. In this role, the ideal candidate will provide quality customer service to PEBTF members, internal staff, and outside agencies. Day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, invoicing, account reconciliation and communicating with members.
The successful candidates will possess the ability to:
- Post cash receipts, refunds and adjustments for all billable groups.
- Print and mail various notices related to voluntary termination, delinquencies, Medicare, COBRA and LWOP to PEBTF members.
- Answer inquiries by telephone, email or U.S. mail regarding member billing, premium payments and other inquiries relating to qualifying events.
- Prepare initial member billing and send out monthly invoices and reminder notices when applicable.
- Perform research on open AR accounts and complete the necessary tasks to get resolution and clear out outstanding balances.
- Follow up on aging reports and PEBTF forms and apply corrections or adjustments to member accounts when applicable.
- Post data; verify and perform mathematical computations; and update and maintain spreadsheets.
- Strictly adhere to all HIPAA and Fund Privacy and Security policies and proceudres and perform member verification in accordance with them.
- Process refunds when applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the A/R Supervisor.
These skills, knowledge and experience are required:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. One to three years of working with accounts receivable in a corporate environment.
3. Knowledge requirements:

- Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Good keyboarding skills.
4. Experience with accounting systems.
5. Must exercise sound judgment and logical thinking.
6. Must have ability to work independently or as part of a team.
7. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in work assigned.
8. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Ability to work under the pressure of tight monthly deadlines.
10. No travel is required.
