SUMMARY


The Manufacturing Efficiency and Safety Manager will lead and implement Lean-focused strategies to reduce waste, enhance quality, and optimize efficiency across all operational areas. Acting as the key advocate for Lean principles, this role will plan and execute cross-functional projects, standardize processes, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. The Lean Manufacturing Manager will also serve as a liaison between departments to ensure alignment and operational success.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership
  • Lead Lean manufacturing strategies to reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and advocate for Lean manufacturing principles across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and drive efforts to standardize and optimize processes.
Project Management
  • Plan, manage, and execute Lean-focused projects that address operational inefficiencies and improve productivity.
  • Act as the primary liaison between departments to ensure seamless communication, project alignment, and shared goals.
  • Utilize tools such as value stream mapping, root cause analysis (RCA), and Six Sigma to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Track and report on project progress, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and Lean objectives.
Continuous Improvement
  • Oversee the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies, such as 5S, Kaizen events, and visual management.
  • Work closely with production teams to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) that promote efficiency and consistency.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to measure the success of Lean initiatives, driving strategic decision-making and sustained results.

Safety
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) on production processes & procedures
  • Document Company safety protocols
  • Work with Facilities Manager to correct any safety-related non-compliances found during safety reviews or corrective actions required after injuries/near misses.

Coaching & Training

  • Provide training and coaching to employees at all levels on Lean principles and tools.
  • Facilitate workshops, kaizen events, and training sessions to build awareness and application of Lean methodologies.
  • Inspire a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability throughout the organization.
Resource Management
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful completion of Lean initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to allocate resources effectively and align projects with business priorities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field op relevant experience
  • 5 years of experience in Lean manufacturing, process improvement, or a similar leadership role.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), or other CI methodologies preferred.
  • Proven ability to plan and lead cross-functional projects with measurable success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using tools like value stream mapping and RCA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence teams at all levels.
  • Proficiency in developing KPIs, SOPs, and standard work processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional phone demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and validation tasks.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work efficiently under time constraints.
  • Prior experience in data entry, customer service, or administrative roles is a plus.

The employee works indoors in office and production environments. He/she may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
