What are the responsibilities and job description for the HLA Laboratory Medical Technologist, PRN position at Piedmont Careers?
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs high complexityhistocompatibility testing andrelated functions including moleculartyping, antibody monitoring, and flowcytometry that regularly require a professional level ofknowledge to execute, interpret, and/oranalyze. Assists with development, validation and implementation of new and/or revised procedures and protocols. Participates in on-callrotation.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
A baccalaureate degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited college or university.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Three (3) years of progressive work experience in an ASHI and/or UNOS accredited laboratory and trained inall components of the Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics laboratory including molecular typing, antibody monitoring, and flow cytometry
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Certification as aMedical LaboratoryScientist byASCP (orequivalent organization) or Histocompatibility Technologist by ABHI. CHT or CHS certification byABHI required within 2 years of start date.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a theoretical or conceptual understanding of the techniques, methods, and instrumentation utilized in themodern histocompatibility laboratory. Ability to communicate in an effective manner and work effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
