Centerless Grinder Operator

Pilgrim Aerospace Fasteners is seeking an experienced Centerless Grinder Operator to join our team. This position involves the setup and operation of Cincinnati Centerless Grinders, including No. 5 and No. 2 machines, to grind external cylindrical or tapered surfaces of metal workpieces to blueprint specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate Cincinnati Centerless Grinders (No. 5 and No. 2) to achieve precise dimensions and tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints and job orders to determine product specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
• Mount, dress, and replace grinding and regulating wheels according to specifications.
• Adjust machine controls to set grinding speeds, feed rates, and spacing between wheel faces.
• Position and secure workpieces manually or with automatic feeding devices, ensuring proper alignment and setup.
• Verify dimensions of finished workpieces using measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, including wheel changes and work area cleaning.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Adapt to changes in work priorities and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing.
• 3 years of centerless grinding experience, specifically with Cincinnati Centerless Grinders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical specifications.
• Proven ability to maintain high-quality standards and productivity.
• Proficiency in English for verbal and written communication.
• Dependability, adaptability, and a commitment to safety in the workplace.
• Ability to work day shift and willingness to work overtime as needed.

• Full time, direct hire with competitive wages that begins at $18/hr., top pay will be determined based on experience.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
