Pilsen Wellness Center, Inc. is a community-based not-for-profit agency that provides culturally sensitive services to a multicultural population with limited financial resources. The organizations mission has remained providing quality human services to economically disadvantaged children and families. The agency is comprised of five divisions - Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Youth Services, Early Intervention, and Education which are currently supported through 17 different locations.

 

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated full time Peer Specialist to join our HOGAR Program located at 2938 E 89th Street Chicago, Illinois 60617.

WORK SCHEDULE

The work schedule available is: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

This individual will provide peer support services to clients with serious mental illnesses. The Peer Specialist will function as a role model to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills; serve as a consumer advocate, providing information and peer support for clients in outpatient settings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

High School Diploma or GED; 2,000 hours (one year) paid/supervised work experience; 100 hours supervision in the Certified Recovery Support Specialist performance domain and successful completion of written exam for CRSS and maintained valid.
