What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Engagement Manager position at Pine Tree Society?
Summary of Position:
With high external visibility, the Community Engagement Manager leads annual fund fundraising related to special events (Paddle for Pine Tree Camp Weekend, Flutie 5k at Pine Tree Camp, and Snowmobile Ride-in Weekend), the Pine Tree Camp 100 campaign and other annual operations funds to support Pine Tree Camp. The Community Engagement Manager will communicate with and engage Pine Tree Camp’s alumni network by managing all aspects of donor and stakeholder events.
The Community Engagement Manager will engage with civic organizations across Maine, sharing Pine Tree Society’s mission through presentations and tabling opportunities. This position is an active member of the fundraising team, proactively working to identify, engage and maximize relationships with donors and prospects.
Essential Responsibilities: (other duties as assigned)
Annual Fund
· Proactively identifies and manages portfolio of donors/prospects using Pine Tree Society’s Qualified Prospect Indicator (QPI) rating system.
· Develops individual goals for each assigned donor/prospect on based history of giving, propensity to give, connection to cause, capacity and timing.
· Develops an individualized strategy and plan to serve as roadmap for donor engagement and solicitation based on For Impact framework.
· Faithfully and on a timely basis executes plans to ensure maximized support and donor retention to meet established budgeted revenue.
· Creates weekly reports that accurately reflect activity, performance and progress toward goals.
· Enters accurate and timely memos of record to knowledge management system.
· Develops strong connections with current and prospective donors based on Pine Tree Society’s vision and impact.
· Drives plans forward despite ambiguous information.
· Leads all aspects of the Pine Tree Camp 100 campaign.
· Secures funds related to Pine Tree Camp scholarships and annual operations.
· Supports and secures holiday card sales to businesses.
· Acts as the organization representative accepting checks and speaking to stakeholder groups.
Special Fundraising Events
· Develops, leads and manages special events infused with organizational impact that inspire participation and giving.
· Secures sponsorship funds to meet established goals.
· Recruits, inspires and motivates participants in raising funds to meet goals.
· Secures in-kind support as needed.
· Secures and manages all aspects of media sponsor relationships.
· Leads and manages all aspects of event logistics including, but not limited to timelines development, vendor and supply coordination and volunteer management.
· Secures organizational staff support including administrative and Pine Tree Camp program staff, as needed.
· Collaborates with the Development Services Manager to acknowledge and thank special event donors.
· Works with the Development Services Manager and CDO to create data tracking systems for efficient analysis and reporting.
· Develops and analyzes post-event surveys and stakeholder feedback and incorporates learning in future events.
Donor engagement events
· Develops, leads and manages donor events. Infuses events with organizational impact that inspire deeper engagement and giving.
· Collaborates with Development Services Manager and CDO to identify invitees. Manages invitation process.
· Creates systems to identify event attendees.
· Coaches staff attending the event on how to engage with donors and documenting conversations.
· Secures organizational staff support including administrative and Pine Tree Camp program staff, as needed.
· Leads and manages all aspects of event logistics including, but not limited to timelines development, vendor and supply coordination and volunteer management.
· Attends events and actively engages donors and Pine Tree Camp Alumni.

· Ability to compose correspondence and other written material that is creative, concise and demonstrates good command of the English language.
· Ability to organize time effectively and remain flexible in order to meet competing demands requiring time and attention.
· Ability to communicate effectively with staff, donors, clients and their families, volunteers and other key stakeholder groups.
· Strong computer skills. Experience using Constant Contact, InDesign, Adobe Suite, and WordPress is preferred.
· Knowledge and understanding of utilizing social media outlets, including Facebook and YouTube for engagement.
· Sufficient computer skills to use basic software applications.
· Ability to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
· Possess a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record, have a reliable vehicle with at least the state minimum automobile insurance coverage and the ability and willingness to travel to off-site locations.
· Must pass all required background checks including, but not limited to: motor vehicle, criminal, Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services, US DHHS Fraud Prevention and Protection (OIG) and MaineCare background checks.
Education/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, communications, business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and training.
· Minimum of three years of sales/marketing/fundraising experience.
