About the Role
The Financial Counselor plays a vital role in supporting patients through their fertility journey by guiding them through financial processes and ensuring a clear understanding of their financial obligations. This position is ideal for individuals who are customer service-minded, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Financial Counselor, you will work closely with patients and a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate care and a seamless financial experience.
We are seeking a Financial Counselor to join our dedicated team at IVF1 in Naperville, Illinois. This is a full-time, onsite position, working Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate patient accounts by updating personal, financial, and insurance information.
- Obtain and process referrals, authorizations, and predeterminations as required.
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility and calculate procedure deposits.
- Review financial history with patients, collect outstanding balances, and escalate unresolved issues.
- Submit daily charge entries for timely processing.
- Obtain waivers for patients without proper benefits or authorizations.
- Educate patients about loan programs and financing options for those without insurance coverage.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to communicate accurate financial obligations to patients.
- Provide support at the front desk and reception as needed.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer skills.
- Strong knowledge of insurance processes, medical billing, and collections is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour (final offers based on experience, skills, and qualifications).
