We are currently seeking a Materials Expeditor to monitor and coordinate the flow of parts and assemblies through our manufacturing process. This is a first shift position from 5 : 00am to 3 : 00pm Monday through Thursday, plus overtime on Friday and some Saturdays currently (Friday and Saturday are typically an eight-hour shift).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Required Tasks)
- Coordinates with production scheduler as to what parts or assemblies are top priority.
- Confers with department supervisors to determine parts required or overdue.
- Follows up on purchased parts by communicating with purchasing.
- Relays process scheduling information and the anticipated availability of parts or assemblies to production scheduler.
- Reviews back order / past due report and assures necessary work orders have been issued.
- Tracks the status of materials and parts through the plant.
- Locates and move parts to specified production areas.
- Reports on shortages, schedule modifications, and material changes
- Takes action to expedite materials, such as repairing damaged material or transporting in-house material
- Receives, routes, and moves materials into and out of storage and maintenance areas
- Locates critical items in storage and maintenance areas.
- Drives forklift as required.
- Maintains inventory records
- Other duties as assigned

The duties of this job require the employee to perform frequent standing work with occasional movement throughout the facility to transfer or deliver parts. Frequent use of powered industrial trucks. Occasional work at a desk and a computer screen. Frequent use of hands / fingers to handle and control tools. Frequent lifting and / or pushing up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting and / or pushing up to 80 pounds. Occasional bending, squatting, and stooping. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing this job, the employee is commonly exposed to noise, heat, and dust. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals. PPE is required in this area.
