Description:
Job Purpose:
Plays a key role in the recruitment and enrollment of qualified students who will be best served by the mission of Pomfret School.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for participating in all aspects of the recruitment and admissions process.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with prospective students and families and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the application and admissions process.
- Represent Pomfret School and communicate the mission, vision, values, and curriculum to prospective students and families at the time of interview, at fairs, and other functions
- Conduct admissions interviews with candidates and parents
- Interest in or propensity toward Financial Aid work.
- Review and evaluate admissions applicants as a member of the Admissions Committee
- Maintain contact and cultivate relationships with your interviewees (students/parents) throughout the application process
- Work with the Dean of Enrollment Management to identify and initiate targeted efforts for particular markets or grades
- Assist the Admissions Team with admissions related events (open houses, receptions, revisit days, etc.)
- Maintain the utmost confidentiality and professionalism
- Travel domestically and internationally, as needed
- Contribute to the advising, residential life, and participate in one season of the after school activities/coaching programs
- Engage in faculty meetings, school events, etc. when not in conflict with Admissions responsibilities
- Adhere to all School policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Continually meet or exceed Pomfret School’s Standards of Behavior, Character, and Engagement
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Admissions experience preferred
- Knowledge of SchoolAdmin and Google Workspace a plus
- Experience developing, cultivating, and maintaining relationships
- Strong interpersonal/human relations, verbal, written, and communication skills
- Project management, marketing and presentation skills
- Must hold a valid US driver's license
- Ability to adapt and respond to various situations
Work Conditions:
- Sitting, standing, walking and working on a computer
- Coaching or afternoon activity may require being outdoors
- Driving a mid bus for school activities may be required
