What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Laser Operator position at Precision Manufacturing Group?
Precision Manufacturing Group, a fabricator of precision metal parts, is seeking a 2nd shift (1 PM - 9 PM)CNC Laser Operator with experience programming, setting up and operating a CNC Laser . The employee must be able to be self-sufficient reading data (and/or prints), programming CNC machines, and producing parts to data. This position requires working for various industries such as tool and die, heavy equipment, oil, defense work, etc.

Essential functions:
Performs setup and running of Mazak Optiplex 4000 KW laser.
Performs setup and running of Mazak Champion lasers.
Able to adjust settings for different operations.
Can read and understand complex blueprints, and is capable of conducting layout review (example check hole size or inspection).
Performs required maintenance on machine.
Troubleshoots problems and either fixes problem or arranges for assistance.
Reads and understands job cards, micrometer and scale, and dial caliper (veneer).
Can demonstrate knowledge of CNC programming.
Accurately adjusts power setting for a variety of metals, including cold roll and stainless steel, and aluminum.
Performs operator level daily, weekly, and monthly work and safety activities.
Maintains inventory of laser stock and supplies.
Other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Basic ability to read blueprints.
Candidate must be able and willing to work in other areas of the shop as needed.
Must have good manual dexterity and the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers.
Work overtime when approved and scheduled by your supervisor.
Experience
3-5 years experience.
Mazak experience preferred.
Multi-axis laser experience a plus.
Experience with CO2 lasers.
Experience with Fiber Lasers
Education
High school Diploma or equivalent.
National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certificate is a plus.
