This position is primarily responsible for posting payments from insurance payers and patients & reconciles deposits in a timely and accurate manner on a daily basis as assigned.

General Summary
This position is primarily responsible for posting payments from insurance payers and patients & reconciles deposits in a timely and accurate manner on a daily basis as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
- Process and post all manual, online, electronic and zero payments from all payor sources to patient accounts with accuracy, sorts mail, distributes denials to billers and prepares daily deposits within 48 hours
- Verifies electronic payment report matches what the bank has received and then follows the process to have files posted and ensure the cash deposited in the bank and the amount posted is balanced daily
- Prints, pull out and scan out all insurance EOBS from websites and electronic files that were unable to be posted electronically and prepares these documents to be manually posted within 48 hours
- Effectively communicates via phone with customers, employees and vendors using exemplary customer service skills
- Properly complete timesheet, daily
- Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance per PRO-PT’s attendance and punctuality policy;
- Responsible for attention to detail, organization, cleanliness, strong multitasking and time management skills
- All employees must appear clean and well groomed according to PRO-PT dress code policy, all work surface areas must be clean and organized, and demonstrates over-all quality work and efforts.
- All other duties as assigned IE: Training staff, ordering supplies etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of fee schedule and network contracted rate, report discrepancies to supervisor or biller
- Knowledge and understanding of HIPPA
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 coding and medical terminology
- Skill to perform computer & data entry functions (40 wpm)
- Detailed oriented and highly organized
- Able to operate office equipment, including but not limited to keyboard, copier, telephone, fax machine and calculator
- Efficient and accurate 10-key skills (120 SPM) strokes per minute or (7,000 KPH) keystrokes per hour
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques
- Ability to read, interpret and understand EOB’s (strong knowledge)
- Ability to self-motivate and work effectively in an independent environment
- Ability to multi-task, recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to successfully complete training
- Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal
- Ability to explain instructions and guidelines to others effectively
- Ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse 6-8 hours per day
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalency.
- Preferred one (1) year of payment posting
- 10 key calculator (1) year preferred
- Knowledge of insurance billing, data processing and medical terminology (or willing to learn) preferred.
Physical Requirements
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients and insurances over the telephone.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. Requires bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting (extended periods of time).
Working Conditions: Normal working conditions absent extreme factors.
