Full job description
Plaintiffs Personal Injury Law Firm in Woodland Hills is seeking a full-time, experienced litigation secretary with at least 5 years of experience in civil / personal injury litigation. Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications, and opportunity for growth.
Paralegals/litigation secretaries at our office hold an important role, who primarily assist with propounding and responding to discovery, filing government claims, filing lawsuits, preparing cases for trial, calendaring, filing court documents, analyzing cases, etc.
The ideal candidate must have:
- Excellent writing and English & Spanish grammar skills,
- At least an Associate’s degree or higher,
- A paralegal certification from a reputable institution, or experience at law firm performing paralegal tasks,
- The ability to analyze a case and think outside of the box,
- Experience communicating with clients, primarily to assist with client discovery responses,
- In-depth experience in all aspects of litigation, discovery, and motions,
- Understand how to analyze medical records,
- Have a_ positive_ attitude and be a team player,
Your duties will include:
- Propound and respond to extensive discovery
- Communicate with clients to assist with discovery responses
- Filing government claims
-Calendaring
-Filing Lawsuits
- Special Projects as needed
Speaking Spanish fluently is a MUST!
You must have a very thorough understanding of Personal Injury, both in the pre-litigation and Litigation phases.

Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and preparing for trial
- Manage and organize case files, including maintaining electronic and physical files
- Review and analyze documents for relevancy, privilege, and confidentiality
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Conduct factual investigations and interviews with clients, witnesses, and experts
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating witnesses
- Coordinate with outside vendors for document production and e-discovery
- Maintain calendars, deadlines, and case management systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal
- Strong knowledge of legal case management software (iManage preferred)
- Proficient in conducting legal research using online databases and other resources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning, etc.
