Optometric Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting optometrists in providing high-quality patient care. You will perform various clinical tasks, manage patient records, and ensure a smooth workflow within the office. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, a passion for patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical coding and billing tasks to ensure accurate patient records.
• Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
• Provide exceptional patient care by addressing concerns and educating patients about eye health and glasses related questions.
• Support retail sales by assisting patients with selecting eyewear and understanding product features.
• Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and conducting preliminary tests.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall patient experience.

Experience

• Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a related healthcare field is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical billing, coding, and retail math is advantageous.
• Strong sales skills to assist in retail environments effectively.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other office software is desirable.
• Candidates should have a commitment to providing excellent patient care while maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Required certification within 6 months*************
• 90 day probationary period *************

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
