About the Company - We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join our finance team in a contract to hire capacity. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with accounting principles and company policies. In this roll as a Payroll Accountant, you will handle payroll operations, reconciliations, and benefits processing using ADP and Deltek Costpoint. About the Role - Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Manage and execute the semi-monthly payroll cycle through ADP and Deltek Costpoint, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Employee Onboarding & Training: Coordinate new hire payroll setup with HR, create employee profiles in Costpoint, and train employees on timesheet entry.
- Benefit & Payroll Administration: Maintain and calculate payroll and benefits for SCA employees, ensuring correct contributions and deductions.
- 401(k), HSA & FSA Reconciliation: Review, reconcile, and transmit employee contributions to benefit providers, including employer matching.
- Payroll Accounting & Reporting: Accurately record payroll activity in Costpoint and assist in preparing payroll-related reports.
- Accounts Payable: Enter benefit invoices into AP, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure timely payments.
- Tax Compliance: Reconcile quarterly and annual payroll tax returns prepared by ADP with Costpoint data.
Qualifications - Minimum Education/Training Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field from a four-year college or university.
- An Associate degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping is acceptable with relevant experience.
Required Skills - Key Competencies:
- ADP experience or a similar payroll processing platform.
- Deltek Costpoint experience is a must have.
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and laws pertaining to various states and localities.
- Familiarity with SCA (Service Contract Act) and its impact on payroll and benefits administration.
- Experience managing 401(k) plans related to payroll processing and employer matching.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills - Additional Experience:
- Preferred: ADP, Deltek Costpoint, and SCA payroll experience (as outlined in Key Competencies).
