Accounting Manager

PrideStaff Financial is looking for an Accounting Manager to take over operations for our client in Vallejo, CA. Our client is a family-owned corporation that is growing quickly. They are in the industrial electrical motor and pump repair business with gross revenues of between $5M and $10M. Their rapid growth has opened up the opportunity for the right individual to support their administrative and accounting functions. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to strengthen their skills in management, accounting, and office management. 

Job Summary: 
The Accounting Manager role will work side by side with the company's owner, who runs the shop and field operations. Prior electric and industry experience is not required, however, prior experience in managing individuals and experience in a service-based business is preferred. 

Responsibilities: 

Office Management -  

• Handle administrative support including HR (hiring, terminating, payroll, onboarding, training new staff members, etc..,
• IT support including troubleshooting when issues arise and operational duties about managing the office: creating policies and procedures for office operations
• Manage fellow staff members including offering guidance, delegating duties, coaching, and implementing disciplinary actions as needed. 

Accounting Functions - 

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and fixed assets 
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial statements
• Prepare and present financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses to senior management 
• Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies, procedures, and internal control to improve efficiency and accuracy  

Operational Functions - 

• Share vendor management duties with the company owner 

Qualifications:

Required - 

• Excellent leadership skills including honor, integrity, ethics, and the ability to naturally lead others 
• Experience with accounting functions and principles 
• Proven track record of effectively managing cost and maximizing profits for business 
• Previous office management including directly managing office staff members 
• Excellent attention to details

Preferred - 

• Understanding of inventory management systems 
• Familiarity with best practices and lean manufacturing principles 
• Bachelors in Accounting, finance, or related field 
• Experience in service-based industry
