Loan Clerk

Position: Loan Operations Representative

Pay Rate: $22/hour
Contract Duration: 12 months
Extension possible: Possibly
Conversion Possible to full time: Possibly
Work Location: Lewiston, ME (Hybrid, onsite twice a week)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs various administrative tasks involved in servicing Loans.
• Performs routine administrative tasks exercising some judgment and discretion in the performance of duties usually in support of a single unit or team within Loan Operations.
• Tasks are varied and are usually performed independently within standard policies and procedures.
• Review work of others to ensure accurate processing.
•  Perform preliminary research on suspicious items and reports findings to appropriate resource to help prevent fraudulent activities.
• Make entries in general ledger related to paperwork and information processed.
• Approve and review general ledger entries and/or invoices for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide input and assistance to management in developing and maintaining budget as requested
• Identify, audit, and investigate departmental discrepancies
• Responds to basic and moderately complex inquiries and issues from Customers and internal units
• Researches information to provide responses and resolution
• May contact Customers to explain items affecting their accounts
• Follows up with branches and other units to resolve discrepancies and Customer issues

MUST HAVE:

• Operations experience

NICE TO HAVE:

• Mortgage account monitoring experience
• Banking or FI experience
• Transaction or loan processing
• Loan Operations experience
• Transaction monitoring experience

EDUCATION:

• High school Diploma at minimum
