The Prince George’s County Police Department is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Permanent Part-Time General Clerk IV, grade P12 in the Internal Affairs Division-Court Liaison Unit.
About the Position
The incumbent works as a liaison between the Prince George’s County Police Department and the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Office and keeps both agencies aware of needs and problems that occur on a day to day and long-term basis. Work requires a good knowledge of departmental procedures as well as the Office of the State’s Attorney’s operations.

Examples of Work
- Retrieves daily police officer court sick logs from each district/division within the police department and delivers master log to all appropriate court rooms.
- Monitors officer sick notifications and notifies the appropriate Commander if an officer reaches the threshold that requires an inquiry to be conducted.
- Makes notifications to the Court and State’s Attorney’s Office on behalf of the police department, locates individual police officers for the Court and State’s Attorney’s Office.
- Disseminates requested documentation to aid in administrative investigations.
- Tracks officers daily court appearances.
- Reviews court case disposition forms for accuracy.
- Tracks felony screening appointments.
- Processes court unavailability forms daily and notify the appropriate case coordinators and attorneys.
- Analyzes computer printouts, compiles, and tabulates data and prepares related reports.
- Codes, enters, and retrieves information in alpha, cross reference or numerical file as required in establishing filing system.
- Acts as the Police Department Liaison to the Court, State’s Attorney’s Office, and the public.
- Accepts other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have experience at the General Clerk III level equal to the length of the probationary period of one (1) year or
- Six (6) months of experience performing diverse clerical tasks.
- One (1) year of education above the high school level which includes coursework in computer data entry, secretarial subjects or business administration.
Any equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience will also be accepted.
Preferred Qualification:
- Prior customer service skills.

Conditions of Employment: Upon selection, the candidate must:
- Must be available to cover one of two shifts between the hours of 7:30 am and 7:00 pm.
- Pass a drug screening.
- Pass a background investigation.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Be willing to adjust work schedule to include working Saturdays and Sundays when required.
- Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.
- Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties, if applicable.
- Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
