Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Operations professional to join our team at Princeville State Bank, a small community bank committed to serving the local community. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and banking operations. This role will involve managing the financial records of the bank, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting day-to-day operational tasks to ensure smooth functioning of the bank.
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and trial balances.
- Prepare and process financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings, audits, and regulatory reports.
- Track expenses and income to ensure financial accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Monitor and record loans, deposits, and other financial transactions.
Banking Operations:
- Assist in daily operations of the bank, including managing customer account transactions, processing deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with banking regulations.
- Assist customers with account inquiries, issue resolution, and basic banking transactions as needed.
- Help in managing the bank’s operational systems, ensuring accuracy and efficient workflows.
- Maintain bank records, files, and other documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all financial and operational activities comply with local, state, and federal banking regulations.
- Participate in audits and regulatory inspections, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Assist in identifying potential risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
General Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to the bank’s management team as needed, including preparing reports and handling communications.
- Maintain office supplies and ensure smooth functioning of office equipment.
- Handle other tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Operations or other members of the management team.
- Assist in Information Technology needs and upgrades.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience (2 years) in bookkeeping, accounting, or banking operations, preferably in a community bank or financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of banking systems.
- Familiarity with bank regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of basic banking products and services.
- Certification or coursework in banking operations or financial services.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday including one Saturday per month.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
