Job Summary: The Wide Format Manager is responsible for overseeing the production and delivery of wide format printing projects. This role involves managing the entire production process, ensuring high-quality output, and meeting client deadlines. The Wide Format Manager will lead a team of production staff and work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management: Oversee the daily operations of the wide format printing department, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and train production staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Client Relations: Communicate with clients to understand their needs, provide updates on project status, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all printing equipment is properly maintained and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of printing materials and supplies.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance productivity and quality.
- Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with company policies and industry regulations
Additional Duties:
• Managing incoming tickets and jobs from the sales team.
• Reviewing job requirements for inventory and deadlines.
• Directing production and prepress teams to ensure timely job completion.
• Ordering and maintaining inventory.
• Serving as a liaison with sales representatives regarding product selection and pricing issues.
• Coordinating with production coordinators to address job schedules and challenges.
• Collaborating with vendors to ensure equipment remains fully operational.
• Assisting with special projects that require additional management support.
• Reviewing the quality of completed work.
• Coordinating with shipping teams as jobs are completed.
• Supervising and scheduling employees to optimize productivity while fostering an efficient and motivated team.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in wide format printing, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in wide format printing technologies and software, including RIP software and color management.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with digital printing technologies.
- Knowledge of large format printing materials and production workflows.
- Project management certification.
Working Conditions:
