What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Education Teacher Aide position at Project of Easton Inc?
PURPOSE
To help the lead teacher facilitate developmentally appropriate early learning practices, including
principles of emergent literacy and language in an early childhood classroom.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
To support ECE teachers in empowering parents to adopt the role of teacher and learner, engage in
language rich interactions within the family, provide text rich environments for their family, understand
their own, and their child's developmental needs.
DUTIES
Assist lead teacher in implementing daily activities in a multi-age family literacy classroom
Assist in the development of good health habits, positive manners and social relationships
Assist with light housekeeping duties and maintenance of equipment and supplies
Assist with lunch, snack, self-help, transition and classroom routines
Assist with early childhood assessments by conducting daily observations
Assist parents and children during Interactive Literacy Activity (ILA) time
Always ensure cleanliness of all children
Always supervise the general welfare and safety of children
Promote emergent literacy
Teach children through play, reading and songs
Pursue professional growth and development by attending training workshops
Attend all program staff meetings as assigned
Follow and reinforce philosophy, policies and procedures of ProJeCt of Easton, Inc
Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to PA Department of Services and Keystone STARS guidelines
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with all ProJeCt program staff
Any other tasks as assigned

HOURS : Part-time
All applicants will be required to take and pass a drug screen prior to hiring.
