Phlebotomist

Prometheus Federal Services (PFS), a trusted partner to federal health and social services agencies,has anopening for a Phlebotomist. This individual will perform onsite phlebotomy and specimen procession. The work will be on-site at the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) located in Augusta, ME.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform patient phlebotomy to include inpatient ward rounds, inpatient and outpatient, Emergency Department (ED), STAT, as soon as possible (ASAP), and timed draws
• The employee will perform sample processing and send out preparation
• Positively identify patients prior to sample collection and samples prior to testing or aliquoting
• Safeguard electronic and paper patient information
• Identify, document, and resolve any collection, processing, testing, or reporting issues
• Assure patient-centered care and provide service in a professional manner and customers
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of recent Phlebotomy experience
• Proven ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently
• Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship (all jobs)
• Ability to obtain a public trust
  
  

Required testing and immunization

• Negative Tuberculosis (TST) or IGRA
• Measles, Mumps & Rubella
• Varicella
• Acellular Pertussis
• Influenza
• Covid-19
