The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 150 employees. This includes calculating wages, deductions, and taxes; preparing and distributing paychecks; and reconciling payroll accounts. In addition, this role will support benefits administration and Human Resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll and prevailing wage laws and regulations as well as experience using payroll software.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate wages, deductions, and taxes for all employees
- Prepare and distribute paychecks
- Reconcile payroll accounts
- Respond to employee inquiries about payroll
- Update employee records
- Administer benefits enrollment
- Stay up-to-date on changes to payroll laws and regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred but not required
- 2 years of experience in payroll processing
- Experience with prevailing wage payroll
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations
- Proficiency in payroll software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Base pay in the $70-85K DOE
- Strong benefits package
