Description
ProxsysRx is currently recruiting for a part-time pharmacy cashier at The Pharmacy at Desoto in Southaven, MS. The Pharmacy Cashier is responsible for assisting customers and patients with excellent customer service, assist with the maintenance of the retail space of the pharmacy, and reconciling point-of-sale (POS) transactions daily. This position is perfect for someone who has cashier experience looking to have a rewarding career in the pharmacy or medical field.
The position will average 2 days per week 9am to 5pm, with one of the days being Monday. The pharmacy is open Monday thru Friday, closed nights and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers/patients upon entry and identify needs,
- Answer incoming calls and direct to appropriate pharmacy staff for clinical needs; field questions and/or complaints from customers/patients,
- Serve as runner in support of the discharge program, as needed,
- Request new patient information and current insurance card,
- Present hardcopy prescriptions or refill prescription label to pharmacy for filling after verifying pertinent information,
- Offer patients the opportunity for a consultation with a pharmacist, inform them of HIPAA rights, and obtain signatures for all prescriptions received,
- Process transactions through the POS,
- Balance POS, reconcile transactions, and complete end-of-day paperwork,
- Assist with bank deposits and with submitting bank receipts and invoice logs with receipts weekly,
- Maintain a good impression of the store by straightening displays, cleaning counters and shelving, and restocking as necessary,
- Assist with maintaining sufficient levels of inventory and maintaining storage area/overstock,
- Assist with changing promotional displays as instructed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A passion for outstanding customer service.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with a POS system.
- Merchandising experience preferred.
- Pharmacy experience preferred.
- Positive team player with a solid work ethic.
