What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Sales Trainee position at PSTC?
Position Summary: Parts Counter Trainees are the people identified by management as suitable candidates for advancement to Parts Counter/ Back Counter Sales positions. They are expected to remain in this learning role for up to 24 months as they gain the knowledge and experience to work unassisted in either of those roles.
Essential Functions: To serve as support for the front and/or back counter operations during peak times. When they are not involved in customer interactions, they should be gaining as much knowledge as they can - either through their assigned trainer or through online DTNA education modules – about identifying, locating and selling parts. This would include answering phone calls, generating customer quotes, and sourcing parts as necessary to support front and back counter operations.
Necessary Skills: Candidate should have a basic understanding of vehicle systems and their functions. They should be able to understand the programs utilized to identify and locate parts (i.e.: Parts Pro, Paragon, Vendor websites, etc.) and should become adept at using those programs. Positive attitude, quick thinking, and the ability to interact professionally with technicians and the public.
