Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities, including those with autism. The DSP is responsible for fostering independence and enhancing the quality of life for clients through various daily activities, personal care, and emotional support.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Delivers purposeful. Age-appropriate activities and supports for individuals.
- Implements activities, using specified training techniques and interventions, related to but not limited to developing participant social interaction skills, personal hygiene training, motor skills coordination and activities etc.
- Provides participants with personal care/hygiene support as needed.
- Provides direct training, supervision and support to participants during all activities when assigned staff is absent or needing additional assistance.
- Encourages individuals to participate or partially participate in daily routines and
- activities.
- Accompanies assigned participants on group activities/outings and provides transportation in agency vehicles when required.
- Maintains inventory of equipment/supplies used and notifies supervisor when ordering is necessary.
- Completes all documentation for assigned individuals by the end of the assigned shift.
- Identifies program problem areas and recommends solutions to program supervisor.
- Completes all assigned task related to program objectives, as assigned by supervisor.
- Attends all training sessions and staff meeting as required.
- Administer medication as directed.
Minimum Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma and/or GED required
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Medication Administration Certified or will obtain within 60 days of start date and maintains certification throughout employment completing continuing education and recertification requirements.
- CPR/First Aid Certified or will obtain within 15 days of start date and maintain certification throughout employment.
- MANDT certified or will obtain within 20 days of start date and maintains certification throughout employment.
- Must past a background check and social services background.

Pay: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour
