The VP of Engineering will play a key role in shaping the processes, structure, and tools for development, with a specific focus on accommodating remote teams spread across different locations and cultures. The candidate will work closely with the CTO to ensure the vision and direction of the engineering team are in alignment with the company’s objectives. This position requires a strategic thinker who is adept at building and leading high-performing teams, ensuring quality and timely delivery, and aligning engineering efforts with business strategies
At Qu you will:
- Collaborate extensively with the CTO to establish a clear vision and direction for the engineering department.
- Align engineering strategies and initiatives with the overall business objectives and goals.
- Develop and implement effective processes, structures, and tools for development to ensure optimal performance and collaboration, considering the nuances of remote and culturally diverse teams.
- Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Implement and uphold high standards for quality across all engineering deliverables.
- Ensure that robust QA processes and automation are in place and are being diligently followed.
- Build and scale engineering teams in accordance with the skills and resources required to meet product and engineering goals and priorities.
- Manage near-shore and off-shore teams of more than 150 people
- Ensure that the engineering budget is effectively allocated and managed.
- Monitor and report on the efficiency and productivity of the engineering team.
- Implement metrics, KPIs, and other performance evaluation tools to assess individual performance, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for compensation adjustments.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, working closely with developers, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure optimal quality and velocity.
- Ensure clear and effective communication across all levels of the engineering department.
- Ensure that engineering practices and initiatives are in compliance with business strategies and objectives.
- Make necessary adjustments to engineering practices to maintain alignment with the broader business goals.
What we're looking for:
- BS/MS in Computer Science.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
- Experience on complex deployments such as hybrid multi-region cloud edge.
- Understand and have experience with architecture, design and implementation of large scalable systems.
- Familiar with development, testing, packaging and deployment on .net and JavaScript frameworks.
- Enterprise Software experience. Hospitality industry software experience is a plus.
