Job Title: Senior Sales Operations Strategist
Reports To: Manager, Sales Operations
Job Summary
The Senior Sales Operations Strategist will support day to day sales processes and the operational needs of the sales reps throughout the sale process, helping to resolve roadblocks, handling all deal desk activities, driving efficiencies and opportunities for optimization. This position will be responsible for analyzing sales data and processes for deals in pipeline to identify potential blockers to revenue achievements, issues with any data and assumptions used in projections and strategizing on solutions for remediation. This role reports to the Manager, Sales Operations and will have the opportunity to showcase strong analytical, reporting, process improvement, and interpersonal skills across work and interactions with a significant portion of the sales staff and leadership team.
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Work closely with sales reps on individual deals to provide sales process guidance and resolve process issues and impediments within any stage of the sales cycle (lead to close). Implement and enforce opportunity management processes and best practices to ensure consistent and efficient sales execution.
  • Fulfill the day-to-day needs of the deal desk, proactively assisting sales reps with pricing, discounting, and deal structuring. Provide training and guidance to sales reps on deal desk processes and policies. Lead the facilitation of cross-functional groups to review and approve deals, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Continuously analyze sales pipeline reports and investigate/research other sales data points to identify potential issues in accuracy and achievability of the current period revenue forecasts. Review data errors, assumption issues and bottlenecks; utilize leading indicators, historical trends, and knowledge gained from prior experience working with sales operations to proactively spot potential problems.
  • Provide awareness and review of the identified potential pipeline/forecast issues to sales leadership on an ad hoc basis and reoccurring cadence as a key contributor in forecasting, pipeline reviews, deal stand -ups and revenue leadership meetings. Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and implement strategies for addressing issues in current pipelines.
  • Analyze results of sales quota carrying team members for activity against KPIs, quota attainment, productivity and overall results. Drive the sales team staff activity/performance metrics review cadence, serving as "quarterback" of a cross-functional team to diagnose and address sales rep performance issues. [CB1]
  • Serve as subject matter expert, supporting various initiatives and address questions by providing as needed consultation to leadership and other sales leaders and staff related to knowledge of sales processes, business rules, data and activity categorization, deal desk.
  • Analyze the existing sales process to identify areas for process optimization through enhancement, streamlining and automation and work with cross functional teams to implement improvements. Identify sales operations effectiveness standard metrics and benchmarks and utilize them to assess operational performance and effectiveness of various initiatives.
  • Provide support to Manager, Sales Operations and other leaders on various initiatives, research, reporting and tasks as needed.
Position Qualifications
Prior Work Experience
  • 8 years of experience in sales operations, business and data analysis, or related roles, preferably in a high-growth technology or SaaS company.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with Salesforce, and sales automation tools
  • Demonstrated ability to extract data from CRM platforms and other systems and effectively and efficiently build and maintain dashboards and reports.
  • Strong ability to analyze both data and processes for trends and issues, organize and effectively communicate findings in written, verbal, and visual ways.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interface effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy, integrity, process consistency and documentation
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; dependable with deliverables and deadlines, able to multi-task
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required
  • Flexible to work extended hours during peak periods
  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to six times per year)
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field and/or 8 years' equivalent work experience is required.
Licenses/Certifications
  • None required; certifications in sales operations or revenue operations related platforms preferred.
