Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA). In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or other special needs. You will also be responsible for administering medications in accordance with state regulations and ensuring the well-being and safety of our clients.
Open Shifts
- Monday - Sunday: 8am-12am
- Monday - Sunday: 12am-8am
- *females preferred due to resident's preferences and needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or other special needs.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Administer medications to clients according to prescribed dosages and schedules, ensuring compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.
- Monitor and document clients' health status and medication administration in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist clients with therapeutic and recreational activities, promoting socialization and community integration.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment for clients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, following established protocols and procedures.
- Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of developmental disabilities and medication administration.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in human services, healthcare, or related field preferred.
- Current certification as a Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) required.
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
