The Construction Store Keeper is responsible for managing the construction site’s inventory, tools, and equipment. This includes receiving, storing, and issuing materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the safe and organized storage of all resources. The role requires close coordination with procurement, construction managers, and other site personnel to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Track incoming and outgoing materials to ensure timely availability for construction teams.
- Receiving and Inspection:
- Receive deliveries of construction materials and verify their quality and quantity.
- Inspect materials for damage and report any discrepancies or defects.
- Properly document all received materials and update inventory records accordingly.
- Storage and Organization:
- Organize and store materials, tools, and equipment in a safe and accessible manner.
- Ensure that materials are stored according to specifications to prevent damage or spoilage.
- Label and categorize inventory for easy identification and retrieval.
- Issuing Materials:
- Issue materials and tools to construction teams as requested and maintain records of usage.
- Track material consumption and reorder stock as needed to prevent shortages.
- Ensure that tools and equipment are checked in and out properly to avoid loss or misuse.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Regularly inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Arrange for repairs and maintenance of equipment as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols for storage and handling of materials.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.

Requirements:
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or a similar role in the construction industry.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in storekeeping or inventory management is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy items and work in a construction environment.
