How you’ll shape the future of the Jesup Pulp Mill:
- Ensure that safety management systems are in place in the area that maintain a safe and healthy working environment, produces safe, qualified employees, continuously improves housekeeping, and complies with all applicable regulations and mill policies. Implements improvement initiatives, corrects unsafe conditions, leads training, resolves safety concerns, and conducts regular audits and inspections.
- Manages day-to-day activities in the area, including scheduling, work assignments, maintenance coordination, operator qualification and training, and process trouble-shooting. Coordinates closely with Shift Superintendents to achieve desired results.
- Maximizes the productivity and reliability of equipment to produce product that consistently meet customer requirements. Works closely with Machines area to optimize throughput and quality.
- Through a partnership with Maintenance, manages overall equipment condition of the area by condition monitoring, operator equipment care, maintenance repair, and PM/PdM activities for the area. Coordinates outages with Maintenance and Engineering, planning and scheduling equipment availability, cleaning, and securing to meet both operations and maintenance plans and schedules.
- Optimizes financial returns and controls operating expenses. Prepares and manages annual budget for the area.
- Leads, guides and directs area employees to achieve desired objectives, build teamwork and improve performance. Creates a productive work environment within the area and between departments. Manages employee performance through feedback, coaching and documentation. Consistently applies applicable labor agreements and manages staffing levels. Ensures employees are trained, developed and certified, as necessary.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies and Rayonier’s Standard of Ethics and Code of Corporate Conduct.
You’ll be someone who can bring:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- Four-year technical degree or 6 years actual Production experience preferred.
- Three years process or project engineering experience and/or six-nine years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
- Excellent technical knowledge of the area and good working knowledge of the equipment and associated maintenance activities.
