Summary
The Undergraduate Advising Coordinator is a full-time staff position within the Office of Academic Advising, supporting the Director of Academic Advising and the division of Student Affairs of the university.
The Coordinator will support the everyday operations of the office and will follow all policies and procedures outlined by the Director and the department.
This is a full-time, benefit eligible, 11-month position.
Essential Functions :
- Serve as the primary academic advisor for incoming undergraduate transfer students. Responsibilities include meeting with each new student to discuss accepted transfer courses and academic plans.
- Work in partnership with specific functional areas with regard to the transfer student experience including undergraduate admission, the registrar’s office, new student orientation, and academic program directors for a seamless transition.
- Coordinate programming specific for transfer students, focusing on their adjustment to Regis.
- Be available to meet with students formally and informally to answer their questions, sign off on forms, and provide general academic guidance in consideration of their educational goals.
- Document interactions with students as appropriate using the Starfish Retention platform.
- Provide training and workshops for faculty advisors and student support coaches on best practices in advising students.
- Support faculty advisors by providing them accurate information on institutional policies, procedures, resources, and programs
- Use data driven strategies to inform future academic advising practices.
- Work with ITS and Marketing & Communications to frequently update the Academic Advising website
- Participate in college-wide events as appropriate, including Open Houses, Admitted Students Days, Commencement, and Orientation.
- Represent the Office of Academic Advising on committees as requested (e.g., Case Management).
- Assist in the development and execution of the Majors and Minors Fair each spring semester.
- Aid in the coordination summer Advising and Course Selection process
- Assist the director in updating processes in undergraduate academic advising.
- Engage in relevant professional development opportunities offered by NACADA, Regis, and other organizations.
- Perform other related tasks as required by the Director of Academic Advising.
Qualifications
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Demonstrated experience or interest in helping students in higher education.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere a plus.
- Proven experience in organizing and managing projects and people.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of colleagues and students.
- A positive attitude, flexibility, and open-mindedness.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare quality written work.
- Ability to manage time effectively while balancing multiple tasks and maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands :
- Normal office environment, not subject to extreme variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc.
- Must be able to operate basic computer equipment, like using a mouse, keyboard, and webcam.
- May involve occasional attendance at evening or weekend meetings.
- Most time in the position is spent in a normal office setting.
