Overview
Omega National Products by Rev-A-Shelf is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Supervisor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee the purchasing department, ensuring efficient procurement processes and effective supplier management. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in supply chain management, contract negotiation, and sourcing, with proficiency in ERP systems.
Position responsibilities:
- Analyze purchasing data and buy products from an established list of suppliers.
- Lead and supervise all purchasing activities.
- Build supplier relationships and optimize terms and conditions.
- Manage the suppliers within the given programs (Request for Quote, Supplier Score Cards, Engineering changes, etc.).
- Actively drive costs down by continually staying apprised on market conditions, economic and industry situations as they affect the purchase of materials.
- Support accurate and timely reporting on key measurables and goals.
- Participate in planning and improvement activities in the Purchasing Department.
- Travel to perform onsite supplier qualifications and supplier audits.
- Be able to work with cross functional teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in offshore sourcing.
- Understanding of international logistics and government compliance programs.
- Strong experience with forecasting and system generated purchase suggestions.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex drawings.
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization and worldwide suppliers.
- Self-starter who is proficient in working with cross-functional teams.
- Advanced computer skills, especially Excel.
- Ability to be flexible and willing to learn new skill sets quickly as the need arises.
- Ability to travel at least 5% of time.
Preferred skills and experience:
- APICS or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of wood manufacturing.
- Familiar with ERP systems (Epicor).
