Overview
The mechanical Engineer will apply their technical knowledge to help assess and determine the origin and cause of complex and unique problems for our clients.
Essential Job Functions
- Investigate equipment, pipe, appliance, material, and systems failures.
- Work as part of a team with other engineering specialties to determine the root cause of an incident.
- Perform timely, accurate analysis, prepare reports, and present findings to the client and other interested parties.
- Manage several projects simultaneously and be detail oriented.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Required Education and Certifications
- B.S. or higher degree in a related field.
- A P.E. license is required with the ability to become licensed in additional states (NCEES preferred).
- Need or obtain licensing in all New England States.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation.
- MEP design, appliances, fire suppression systems, fuel distribution, residential and commercial HVAC, and experience with product liability.
- Must be outgoing and be able to interact with staff, clients, and home/business owners respectfully.
- Must be able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines while balancing the needs of multiple projects at one time.
- Must possess excellent verbal communication skills and technical writing abilities.
- Must have an open attitude and a willingness to learn and develop skills as a forensic engineer.
The Salary Range for this position is $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
Physical Demands, Overtime, and Travel Requirements
While performing this job, the employee must frequently stand, walk, sit, climb ladders, walk on steep roofs, enter and work in confined areas, work outdoors in hot or cold weather, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.
Overtime - This position is classified as salaried with an exempt FLSA status. There will be periods where overtime will be required, which the employee will need to comply with in order to meet the demands of the position.
Travel Requirements - Travel in local proximity to the office with the ability to supplement our national staff in response to catastrophic events.
