What are the responsibilities and job description for the HOUSEKEEPER/ENVIROMENTAL SERVICES position at Rio Grande Hospital?
Housekeeper (full-time) Monday-Friday morning shift in Del Norte. Maintains hospital facilities in a clean, sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition to provide a suitable environment for patient care and staff work. Performs a variety of housekeeping duties that may include dusting, washing, and disinfecting furniture, fixtures, and equipment; sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors; gathering and disposing of refuse; arranging furniture; and performing similar tasks. Position may also be known as Housekeeping Aide or Janitor. Cleans, sweeps, washes floors, and walls.
Must have verbal skills to present information and ideas essential to supervisory duties and to understand general housekeeping practice; capable of dealing with people and working closely with patients; workable knowledge of safety procedures; must have patience and enthusiasm as well as the willingness and ability to handle difficult situations with good judgment; must be able to work as a team member; must be willing to learn.
