Controller

The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Plays a critical role in our budgeting / forecasting process by preparing budget-to-actual analysis, meeting with Department and Operations leaders to understand the drivers of variances and providing valuable insights to the CFO and Executive team.
• Maintains appropriate financial processes and internal controls. Identify and implement any necessary improvements to ensure proper safeguarding of assets.

Job Responsibilities:

• Confirms the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements through leading the month-end close process, performing certain journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and other analysis.
• Assists in preparing internal control narratives and other controls documentation.
• Collaborates with the CFO to identify and document technical accounting issues, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Partners with CFO and other leaders to build out accurate cash flow forecasts.
• Supports the preparation of year-end tax returns.
• Works alongside the CFO and other Executives on the integration of M&A targets.
• Works closely with external auditors to ensure the provision of information needed for the annual audit.
• Leads and mentors the Finance Department staff.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, with a background in public accounting and/or industry.
• CPA Required
• Extensive knowledge of MS Word and Excel
• Strong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, problem solving and creative thinking skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, team player with excellent people skills.
• High level of discretion with confidential material.
