Job Description
We are seeking an instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desire to make a difference in the lives of our students. This teaching assignment is on the Owatonna Campus. The instructor will be assigned to teach in a traditional classroom and lab format.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- A graduate of a truck driving program.
Occupational Experience Requirement
- Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a CDL Class “A” tractor-trailer/truck driver.
Recency Requirement
- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement
- Minnesota Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and U.S. Department of Transportation Medical Certificate (DOT Health Card).
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to departmental participation, vision, and planning.
- Understanding of the two year community college mission and familiarity with Minnesota State.
- Willingness to collaborate with community partners, including health/science organizations, high schools and regional employers.
- Bilingual/Multilingual fluent in Spanish, Somali, Karen, Anuak, Nuer or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.
- Demonstrated experience working with a multicultural and underserved populations.
