JOB SUMMARY Develop and manage volunteer program which includes recruiting, organizing and training volunteers for all major
events and select RIVERSPORT programs.
The Volunteer Manager will report directly to the National Events Director and work closely with the National Events Manager to
organize, schedule and plan community and national events. Ability to work on some weekends is required.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
• Develop a robust volunteer program to support programming, community and national events.
• Cultivate relationships with external organizations and corporate sponsors to recruit volunteers, train, schedule and
supervise these volunteers for specific tasks during events.
• Provide regular communication with volunteer corps via tools such as: social media, monthly/quarterly newsletter and
group emails.
• Develop the annual budget with help from National Events Director for expenses associated with volunteer programs.
• Organize, store and manage event inventory.
• Schedule labor as required by anticipated event activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed, and labor cost
objectives are met.
• Personally attend all National & Community events to ensure that the highest possible standards are met.
• Work with in-house catering as well as outside catering and group sales to utilize trade and or/food at cost for events.
• Create and distribute a monthly volunteer recruitment/retention report to RIVERSPORT leadership team.
• Learn basic audio/video requirements to operate most basic events.
• Plan and execute the Annual Volunteer “Thankful” Banquet
• Source and acquire gifts / trade for annual banquet prizes
• Identify potential sponsors and donors for volunteer kits (apparel) and prizes
• Create training program for volunteers for in-person as well as virtual training
• Assist in non-volunteer required National Events as needed
• Attend community events to expand the volunteer network (i.e. School Clubs, Boys and Girls Club, RSVP events, etc)
• Coordinate and triage event volunteers for the positions that are needed the most throughout the day.

• Requires occasionally transporting up to one hundred (100) pounds with the assistance of a two-wheel hand truck.
• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions
prevalent at the time. The noise level can be moderate to high.
