The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will support the administration of financial aid programs and ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Assists in the development and implementation of financial aid policies and procedures.
- Assists with the completion of annual financial aid audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conducts one-on-one meetings, virtual consultations, and group presentations to explain financial aid process, eligibility requirements and award packages.
- Collaborates with other departments on financial aid related issues and processes.
- Counsels students and families regarding financial aid options, eligibility requirements and the application process.
- Evaluates and processes financial aid applications, included federal, state and institutional awards.
- Organizes and participates in workshops and information sessions on scholarship opportunities, loan management and financial literacy.
- Participates in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in financial aid implementation and administration.
- Stays current with changes in federal and state financial aid regulations.
- Works to maintain accurate records and reports related to financial aid disbursements and compliance.
- Works with the Business office to ensure timely disbursement of funds and accurate account management.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience in financial aid or related field.
- Strong Knowledge of federal, state and institutional financial aid programs and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work collaboratively and empathetically with diverse populations.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Ellucian Colleague and Microsoft Office Suite.
