What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pet Care Specialist (1:00 PM - 7:30 PM) position at Roll Over?
The Pet Care Specialist is responsible for providing expert pet care and superb customer service. The position will also be a kennel attendant, pet transporter, dog walker and cat visitor. This specific position will require a commitment of at least six hours a day for at least four days a week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensuring the kennel and facility is clean and sanitized
- Transporting pets with the use of a company or personal vehicle to and from designated locations
- Walking dogs as assigned
- Providing meals and water according to the client and/or veterinarian instructions
- Ensuring pets’ safety and well-being at all times
- Following facility closing procedures to ensure the security of pets, and the building
- Following procedures for cleaning and disinfecting boarding and daycare areas
- Helping maintain kennel, grounds, and inventory as directed by the Pet Care Manager
- Maintaining accurate kennel records
- Performing other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma and experience in animal care preferred
- Ability to work autonomously and also collaboratively with a team and must demonstrate strong initiative, intuition and leadership skills
- Superb customer service skills
- Strong time management skills and accuracy to deal with a variety of duties and prepare reports according to schedule
- Demonstrate timely, orderly, and disciplined work ethic as to show a good example to other employees
