Our Client is seeking an experienced Regional Sales/ District Sales Manager to oversee the Northern California and Nevada Territory.

The District Sales Manager is responsible for supervising Territory Managers and Inside Sales Representatives within their assigned region and achieving sales objectives for that region. Hire and develop new Sales Representatives in their sales territory, work with the Representatives in their territories on a regular basis, and coach and review performance. This role will manage and communicate individual territory sales quotas annually. Oversee consistent quota achievement of each Sales Representative within the Region. You will also work with Representatives regularly to formulate, monitor and improve selling plans and all sales-related activities, in alignment with the strategic imperatives of the business, which may include driving new product sales; act as a field resource to the Marketing Department during product development, new product introductions and evaluations.
- Train all TM's to perform a competent level of sales ability.
- Participate in weekly communication to provide coaching, training and motivation.
- Review and monitor product programs to make sure they meet the needs of the local market.
- Monitor and review all sales reports on a regular basis to meet and exceed all sales and profit budgets.
- Act as liaison for product with the distribution managers.
- Develop promotional activities to stimulate sales.
- Collects marketing intelligence of represented products. Develops strategies with the intelligence so that the DC's can capitalize on the information.
- Recommend new product ideas and innovative sales approaches that would increase profitable sales.
- Develop strong inter-departmental relationships within our client's business units.
Work with National sales and training managers to implement sales strategies and ensure training procedures are followed.
- Perform regular joint sales calls and work closely with strategic accounts.
- Consistently meet all growth and profitability goals for sales team.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the VP & Director.
- Advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
- Assigns sales territory to sales representatives. Regularly travels with outside sales personnel to assist in developing new business as well as relationships with customers and to improve sales performance effectiveness.
- Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
- Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
- Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and /or deficits and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Responsible for creating, presenting, and maintaining independent rebate programs
- 5 years of related experience managing sales teams.
- Experience in an individual contributor outside sales role in the building products industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word Processing software SAP preferred.
- Must have a have a valid license, current insurance, and acceptable driving record.
